It sure is tough when you lead and beat a track record, but second place is your reward. Rum and colas were certainly needed last Saturday on a hot and humid opening day at Ascot. Three year old filly -”For Your Eyes Only” led the field in the Bundaberg Rum and Cola Handicap only to be gobbled up in the last part of the race beaten a length. The winner, four year old gelding Moonlight Drive now has an 1100 metre track record to his name taking that honour from Vain Raider. His time in winning on Saturday, a super fast 1.02.56.
For Your Eyes Only ran 1.02.73 where the track record was previously 1.02.87. Game Park in running third also clipped time off the record at 1.02.77.
