2012 – The year of GROUP 1 GLORY for RANGEVIEW stallions KEY BUSINESS and HENNY HUGHES
All stud owners aspire to stand a Group 1 siring stallion, for most it is more like a dream than actually being achieved. But to go further and then own a Group 1 siring stallion would be a lifetime achievement, however, to actually own and stand two Group 1 siring stallions at the same time is just truly remarkable.
2012 was the year that this lifetime dream became a reality for Robbie and Jody at Rangeview.
The stalwart of the farm for many years, KEY BUSINESS sired his first Group 1 winner being BARAKEY- the Winterbottom Stakes winner and winner of 11 straight. KEY BUSINESS a prolific sire, had previously sired many stakewinners as can be seen on his page.
The new purchase HENNY HUGHES (USA) sired his first Group 1 winner BEHOLDER – when she won the Breeders Cup Grey Goose Juvenile Fillies race. BEHOLDER has now added to their combined achievements being crowned the ECLIPSE AWARD 2 year old USA Champion Filly for 2012. The highest achievement for a 2 year old in USA thoroughbred racing.
HENNY HUGHES has also now finished 2012 as the Leading USA Sire of Two Year old Stakeswinners with 6 individual stakeswinners.
Yes 2012- it was a glorious year and here are a few photos to remind you.

2012 foaling season is not only well under way, but now almost approaching finished! . So here we are again showing off all that is new and delightful. The sleep deprived nights are all worth it for Robbie and Jody when you can see such nice foals arriving after all the hard work.
You can also see that the “boys” Henny Hughes (USA), So Secret and Key Business are all looking really good.

World Champion Sprinter HENNY HUGHES coming to Rangeview
Can you imagine just how much our cameras will be in “overdrive” when sprinting sensation HENNY HUGHES touches down in WA in about a week- potentially 27-30 August. Not just that he has the title of 2006 World Champion Sprinter, but he’s just so damm good looking. It’s going to be a tough few weeks waiting, but here is a little taste. (Denise T)

Sorry Jody, but you’ve been “bumped off” top spot!!
Did you ever wonder what happens on stud farms after the busy breeding and foaling down seasons have finished? After the hard yakka of the yearling sales has finished and all of last years babies have been weaned? Did you ever wonder whether Jody did or could really handle horses?
WELL just take a look at mother and daughter in the two photos following: Jody riding Scooter in the photo on the left and primary school Shelby riding Riley. Blonde on blonde on blonde on blonde. Pretty clever, eh?
(P.S. Just need an action shot now of Robbie playing finals cricket!!)

As well as our own photos, Magic Millions also had a professional photographer on hand at the 2011 Yearling Sale–his name Bruno Cannatelli. Bruno was undoutedly taken with our horses!!– or was it the three wonderful handlers we had; Harriet (Harry) Haddleton, Anneke Schoenmakers and Jess Manson. Anyway Bruno has been happy to provide us with his skilfull shots taken during the sale. Thanks Bruno.

Remember those two foals a few weeks ago? One from Rosey View and the other from Conamore -well take a look at them just below, now!
We now have two more “offspring” associated with the property to show you! One is a very sprightly filly by So Secret out of Picadilly Arcade owned by good friends Siobhan and Michael Campbell. This photo is taken on their own property Bellbridge Park at Harvey. The other photo is a beautiful new arrival for good friends and one time worker Mikala. You would have seen Mikala at many yearling sales and in some other photos on this site. This picture shows baby Matilda Grace being held by her beautiful “full sister” Hayley Jade. Husband Stewart and Mikala are mightily proud of their two gorgeous girls

At last we have some foals. It has just been a slow start this year, but we are delighted to show you our first SO SECRET foal born at the stud.- a beautiful filly out of one of the loveliest mares on the property in CONAMORE. The chestnut filly below is the Conamore filly and this makes her a half relation to Foxaround, Danecay (stakeswinner), Original Lovalover, Conakey and Circular Quay. This filly is friendly, trusting and smart as well.
The bay filly is our next SO SECRET from ROSEY VIEW (4 wins by Key Business-See More Roses). This is only her second foal, with her first being a Flying Pegasus just turned 2 yr old filly. She is also intelligent and strong.
The last two photos in this section are a cheeky VISCOUNT bay colt out of DANCE TO HEAVEN (10 wins by Key Business – Heavenly Moon). This is also a third foal, with her first foal being by Bearcat and now three years old.
A strong chestnut filly by KEY BUSINESS out of MARRI PARK SPECIAL (8 wins by Dauberval-Shades Of Savile), is the final photo. Her oldest foal is a just turned two year old Key Business filly and she has a Flying Pegasus yearling.
There are many more mares yet to foal, and we will keep the photos coming as quickly as we can. Aug 2010
